Washington, D.C. - Today, the Center for Cybersecurity Policy and Law announced the launch of the Digi Asia-Pacific coalition (Digi-APAC), a multi-sector, multi-national partnership focused on advancing digital and cybersecurity policy across the Asia-Pacific region. Digi-APAC will collaborate with governments, businesses, and key regional bodies to shape cybersecurity standards, legislation, and innovative policies that strengthen digital security.
“This initiative will be a critical platform for collaboration, developing practical solutions to help stop the growing cyber threats in the region,” said Ari Schwartz, Coordinator of The Center for Cybersecurity Policy and Law. “We know that solutions in cybersecurity depend on public-private partnership and Digi Asia-Pacific will focus on connecting government and private sector solutions to maximize both.”
Following its launch, the coalition will work to promote a digitally secure, prosperous, and inclusive region. The coalition will gather member input to shape standards, trade agreements, and legislative priorities while developing innovative cybersecurity and digital policy. Additionally, Digi-APAC will educate policymakers on cybersecurity best practices and partner with global stakeholders to support common goals.
Adam Dobell, the newly appointed Coordinator for Digi-APAC, brings a wealth of experience to the role. His career with the Australian Government saw him work with governments and industry stakeholders across the region to progress shared security goals, particularly through key multilateral groupings such as the Asia-Pacific Economic Forum and the Quad.
“The Asia-Pacific region is pivotal to global security and economic stability. I am committed to fostering collaboration and innovation to address the challenges we face and to seize the opportunities that lie ahead,” said Dobell.
The coalition invites stakeholders to join its efforts to build a secure, innovative digital future for the Asia-Pacific region.
